Your unique spiritual exploration begins before you step onto the plane. The desire to travel urges you onward to Delhi. You arrive in the capital of India ready to venture through the active streets. Enjoy a full day guided tour of the city with a visit to Jama Masjid, the largest mosque in India. Lotus Temple is a dedicated Baha’I House of worship that is designed to look exactly like a large-scale lotus. Travel to Varanasi, the holiest city in India.
The River Ganges brushes against the city’s famous ghats. Visit the renowned Dhamek Stupas during the day and spend the evening alongside the river. The following morning you will watch the sunrise over the water before returning to Delhi in the late afternoon. Transfer to Dharamsala, home to the Dalai Lama and other Tibetan exiles. Spend three days exploring the surrounding mountains that are filled with monasteries. On day nine you will travel from Dharamsala to Amritsar. The city’s name translates to “A Pool of Nectar” and continues to be a great metaphor for the kindness of the local people. In the evening you will take part in the Nightly Ceremony at the Golden Temple.
The following day you will visit the Immortal Throne and imperial garden before witnessing the exciting Wagah Border changing of the guard. Take the bullet train to Haridwar where you will come to Rishikesh. The mountain city is a popular spot for trekking and yoga. Your twelfth day will take you to the Ashram of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, known as the spiritual advisor to The Beatles and The Beach Boys.
