Our couple's trip to Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar was truly amazing and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. We went to Nairobi, Amboseli, Lake Nakuru, Maasai Mara, Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, and Zanzibar over two weeks.

Zicasso’s travel agency made it an easy and seamless experience. They communicated well, took care of us before we landed, and provided guidance on everything we needed, including what to pack.

After we landed, they met us at the airport, provided all transfers, and had their experienced drivers transport us around the country and take us on game drives. We loved our time with our guides in Kenya and Tanzania.

We were also able to visit a Maasai village and learn about their culture. It was wonderful to talk over campfires and learn about their experiences.

The service at every camp and hotel was exceptional, and whenever we had a question or issue, our agent was quickly available to triage.

Our agent gave us the most magical trip and was able to keep it within our budget.

This was our first safari as a group of six friends, and from the moment we connected with our Zicasso travel company, they were fantastic. They were always eager to accommodate all our wishes.

We had a call with them and shared that our main goal was to see as much of Tanzania's wildlife as possible and end our trip relaxing on Zanzibar's exquisite beaches. The first itinerary they sent us was perfect and we trusted their expertise on which parks to visit.

Thanks to our travel company and their staff, we had the most amazing first safari experience.

We have traveled overseas on many occasions and have always undertaken the planning/booking process ourselves, until this trip. Due to my minor accessibility issues, we decided not to burden a standard travel group with our issues, hence the use of Zicasso's travel partner to develop a travel package for ourselves. The trip involved travel to and from Brisbane (Australia) to Victoria Falls, the Okavango Delta, Cape Town, and Kruger National Park.

Overall, the planning stage was well managed, with multiple changes to the program being accepted and dealt with by our travel company, including some very late changes. We applaud our agent for her diligence in ensuring our needs were always met.

Being our first foray into the African continent, we were put at ease having a locally-based travel advisor on hand to attend to such matters as travel via light plane to remote field airstrips and onward to even more remote wilderness camps. At no stage during the trip did we have reason to question the planning and organization that saw us utilizing the services of flight managers, vehicle transfers, tours, boat tours, and government (cross-country immigration and customs) services.

The two-week trip saw us complete our wishlist, with expectations being met and exceeded, such as being up close with the Big Five.

The trip went without a hitch, apart from expected minor delays at several airports.

Zicasso's travel company was exceptional from beginning to end. They presented us with many options based on our preferences and had great advice on how to make the most of our once-in-a-lifetime trip. The lodges we stayed at on safari were wonderful, the staff took care of every need and the trackers/rangers were very knowledgeable and made our game drives so memorable. We really got to know everyone while we were there.

The beach getaway to Mozambique was also a great suggestion. The boutique hotel catered to us throughout our stay, offering incredible personal service, privacy when desired, and suggestions to make our stay even better. The day trip to Bazaruto Island was perfect.

Our agents answered every question we had throughout the planning process and made the entire trip seamless, with every detail covered.

I could not have imagined how smoothly everything would go; the stays, transfers etc. It couldn't have been better.

Overall, the organization of the trip was excellent. The guides were always punctual. The flight reservations were handled efficiently, with proactive checks for delays and timely adjustments when necessary.

However, I observed some inconsistencies in the quality of accommodations. Specifically, the camp in Tarangire did not match the standard of the other lodgings provided during the trip. Considering the cost of this trip, I was surprised by this disparity and would appreciate an explanation.

Regarding the gorilla-trekking experience, since the altitude affected me a little bit, I was concerned about the trekking, but fortunately, I felt better the next day and communicated this to the guide. Despite my recovery, I was placed in a super-easy trekking group, resulting in a trek that lasted less than 10 minutes before encountering the gorillas. While the encounter was okay (it was just a small group and I'm aware that regarding wild animals, sometimes it's a matter of luck finding them or not), the experience was diminished by the behavior of one of the two guides who accompanied us. His actions – jumping, screaming, and mimicking gorilla behavior (even eating plants) – were intended to be humorous, but came across as unprofessional. This was disappointing given the serious nature of such treks and the expectations set by the trip's premium cost. I also didn't understand the necessity of having two guides (It was explained that there would be one guide per group). I thought the whole experience would be a cherry-on-the-top thing, but unfortunately, it was not.

Finally, at the lodge in Rwanda, they wanted me to leave the room at 11am, even though the guide was going to pick me up at 1pm. I negotiated to leave the room at 11.30am, but that was earlier than the regular check-out time in most of the hotels.

Working with Zicasso’s travel team was an amazing and incredible experience. From the beginning, when our conversations about our vacation started, our agent was patient and carefully heard what we wanted to accomplish, what level of accommodations we wanted, and what experience we wanted. He presented well thought out itineraries, listened to our suggestions, and edited accordingly. He was extremely cognizant of our budget and ensured he delivered the most value for the money spent. It was a perfectly tailored trip for our family.
