Detailed Description
Reykjavik is a beautiful blend of nature, natural wonders, and safety, and it is here that you can experience some of the world’s most gorgeous sights in the world. Iceland is one of the safest countries in the world, topping the Global Peace Index for the 12th year in a row. During your stay, you will visit the most astounding natural and surreal wonders in the world and experience the pure elemental power of the country. From the healing waters of the Blue Lagoon to the large sculpture about hope, progress, and freedom, you will witness all the glorious sights of Reykjavik from a helicopter before basking in the warmth of the geothermal spas. Afterward, you will continue your luxurious stay with a visit to the only Michelin-starred restaurant in the country.
As you journey toward Akureyri, you will step into the icy phenomenon of Langjokull, which is Iceland’s second-largest glacier. While you are inside the glacier, you can run your fingers along the frozen interior and marvel at its raw beauty. Then, you will visit two of the most beautiful waterfalls in Iceland: the popular Seljalandsfoss and Gljufrabui. The following day, you will venture out to the open sea to locate the gentle rise and fall of whales before walking in the same footsteps as the men who first landed on the moon in the 1960s at Askja Caldera. You will be amazed at the teeming wild birdlife that inhabits the Langanes Peninsula and the sharp cliffs below the Fontur Lighthouse, which was built in the early 20th century.
Next, you will encounter the surreal landscape of Vatnajokull National Park and descend into the glacier’s depths. As you trek across the country toward Vik, you will reach the highest peaks of Skaftafell before traversing the narrow moss-covered canyon of Fjadrargljufur. On your way to Vestmannaeyjar, you will visit the infamous US Navy DC plane wreck on the black sands of Solheimasandur. You will also visit another piece of history before returning to Reykjavik for a rejuvenating dip in the Blue Lagoon. The other-worldly landscapes and ethereal nature of Iceland will remain forever in your heart as your private transfer drives you to Keflavik Airport for your departure home.
