Day 1
Phnom Penh – A Sitting Pearl
Welcome to Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia and a place once called the Pearl of Asia. The Mekong River is alive with fishermen. They cast their nets out in long strides in search of their daily catch. A wide, charming avenue rushes alongside the riverbank. The city holds keys to the country’s contemporary and ancient history. Independence Monument stands like a tower in the city center and was constructed in the late 1950s. The tower rises over 60 feet tall and is modeled after the country’s best-known monument, Angkor Wat. When night begins to sweep across the city the fountain is lit with blue, red, and white floodlights. Settle into the luxury of the Raffles Le Royal Landmark Hotel, a stunning display of Khmer, Art Deco, and French Colonial architecture.

Your tremendous adventure begins with your arrival in Phnom Penh, the capital city of Cambodia. The contemporary history of the Khmer Rouge is as tangible as the French colonial architecture, and as important as the ancient history of the Khmer Empire. From Phnom Penh you will venture to Siem Reap, the gateway to Angkor. You will have two full days to explore the intricate details of the ancient city.
On your third day in Siem Reap you will venture to Tonle Sap to visit the local fishermen and the unique culture and traditions that have evolved along the lake. Come to Saigon, the largest city in Vietnam. The following day you will have a guided tour of the city’s diversity, from its modern architecture to its consistent French Colonial allure. Spend a full day gliding down the Mekong Delta. The orchards are elegant and filled with natural zest. In the afternoon you will visit the one of a kind Cao Dai Temple.
In Hoi An you will spend two days enjoying the quaint streets of the ancient merchant city. The second day will be spent indulging in the flavors of the local market on a guided tour. Journey to Hue, known for the Imperial Citadel and for being a city where ancient emperors constructed massive tombs to ensure their legacies. When you come to Hanoi you will have two full days in the capital city of Vietnam. You can find the culture in the quiet nooks that are well known and celebrated in this otherwise active modern city.
You will have an overnight cruise of Ha Long Bay on a traditional Chinese Junk before returning to Hanoi. Fly from Hanoi to Luang Prabang, the ancient imperial city of Laos. The architecture continues to fascinate people in its elegant and traditional design. Outside of the city you will visit the impressive colors of the Kuang Si Waterfall and the mystique of the Pak Ou Caves.
