Day 1
Kathmandu – Relaxing on the Rooftop in Beautiful Surroundings
Upon your arrival in Nepal and your private transfer from the airport to your hotel, your first yoga practice will be up on the rooftop where there is peace. The odd artificial noise drifts up from the streets, but it’s drowned out by the sound of rushing wind. Valleys extend into the distance and create stark shapes that cut through the low-lying haze. Mountains punctuate the horizon to offer you glimpses of a remote Himalayan world. Lush tropical vegetation marks the foreground, giving the rooftop a very natural feel. This haven above the city will be a place to retreat into your own world. Inhale. As you exhale and tune your senses, you will escape into this space.
The sun starts to set as the session continues and it casts a deep orange glow over the rooftop and its surroundings. Mountains appear more dominant in this receding light as they create formidable silhouettes to keep you humble. This will be the first of many yoga sessions and it is designed as an introduction to connecting you with the basics. Yoga is much simpler than the complicated poses that are posted on social media, it’s a connection to yourself and that starts by reconnecting with its foundations. Soon the sun will be gone and you walk out into the city, wandering with an inner glow that helps you take in more of the streets and the sights.

Detailed Description
The sun rises slowly over the Himalayas and prayer wheels chime softly in the distance. Bands of red and yellow mark the horizon as you breathe in fresh, alpine air. Nepal, the birthplace of Buddha, is a country of otherworldly landscapes and deep-rooted spirituality. Yoga and meditation have been integral to life here since before written records, and it forms the heart of a culture that takes everything in and savors every moment. There’s no better place for a yoga tour that will deepen and improve your own practice?
Although this will not be a typical yoga retreat, it will be a yoga tour. Spread across three distinctive destinations, it will give you a chance to learn from many reputable instructors. It will not be a studio-based experience. You’ll further your practice beneath beautiful backdrops, as sunrise and sunset yoga brings new meaning to sun salutation (Surya Namaskar). Nepal’s sacred spots provide the settings, leaving you recharged and full of energy, ready to enjoy everything the country has to offer.
Between the yoga sessions, you will go out and explore temples and pagodas in Kathmandu, rhinos and elephants in Chitwan, mountains and monasteries around Pokhara. You will connect with local people through serendipitous meetings on the streets and a monk’s blessing in a small temple. The more you explore the more you will discover, including heritage remains, ornate architecture, alpine trails, adventures in the outdoors and quiet moments overlooking stupas. With yoga as a focus, you will experience the best of Nepal, with meditation and breathing practices (Pranayama) that emphasize the importance of taking everything in.
Kathmandu will be the starting point, with rooftops and peaks used as settings for your practice. Then, off to Chitwan to take you deep into the jungle, where the sound of elephants will echo past as the sun flitters through the morning mist. Pokhara completes the tour, a small town that exudes all the delight of the Himalayas. Much like the yoga sessions, each day will be flexible, which will allow you to take in a variety of sights and experiences. Rather than prescribe a detailed daily itinerary, the yoga practice naturally lends itself to exploring at your own pace and finding your own inspiration in this deeply spiritual nation.
