Rome - Arriving Jewels

Rome is filled with the vibrant energy of a modern city and the shimmer of thousands of years’ worth of history, palpable in the language, the architecture, the art, and the food. You are met at the airport by a private transfer that will quickly have you at your luxurious accommodations within the heart of the city’s historic center. Settle into the comforts of your hotel and the elegance of the city with a welcome cocktail as the celebrated flavors of Rome come to light.

Stride onto the cobblestone streets of the city where the history rings through the fountains and the walkways. A guided walk through the old city will take you to unimaginable beauty displayed in the open. The Trevi Fountain is a picture-perfect representation of Rome, fed by the Acqua Vergine, an aqueduct that has served the city since before the modern millennium. In the 1700s Nicoló Salvi designed the opulent Rococo fountain that features Neptune proudly standing as the pinnacle of the piece. The gentle water trickles in as people sit and enjoy the spectacle with an aromatic glass of wine, a creamy cup of gelato, or standing at the fountain’s edge with their back turned throwing a coin over their shoulder and listening for the splash.

Italy Tour Review: Milan, Lake Como, Bologna, Ferrari Museums, Winery Visit, Food Tour, Cooking Class, Boat Ride, 12-Day Trip

Zicasso's travel specialist organized an amazing 12-day series of private tours, taking us from Milan to the lake regions (Como, Maggiore, and Garda) and down to Bologna. Our days were filled with visiting churches, museums (including the Ferrari and Enzo Ferrari museums), a winery, parmigiano, prosciutto, and traditional balsamic manufacturing, a cooking class, boat tours, and food tours.

Along the way, we saw testing at the Ferrari track and a small portion of the women’s Giro d’Italia. With all that, we still had sufficient downtime to search the streets to find our own gems.

Our trip coordinator checked in with us daily to confirm the daily itinerary and transportation. When we had questions or needed to make a change due to the weather, she was thorough, attentive, and responsive in a way that was reassuring and comforting. She was simply amazing.

I would highly recommend using this travel specialist and team for any of your Italian travel needs.

Italy Trip Review: Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Pompeii, Herculaneum, Naples, 5 Days

Zicasso’s travel company helped us plan and execute a vacation to the Amalfi Coast. The travel specialists suggested sites and arranged hotels, ground transport, and guides. It was all accomplished flawlessly; we had a perfectly paced itinerary.

Not only were the drivers well experienced with the incredible labyrinth of roads along the coast and in Sorrento and Positano, where we stayed, but they were also great sources of local colorhighly experienced with the incredible labyrinth of roads along the coast and in Sorrento and Positano, where we stayed, but they were also great sources of local color and conversation, and, above all, they conversation, and, above all, showed their love for the country and region.

We had several guides who were spot-on, including an archaeology graduate for Pompeii and Herculaneum, and an incredible historian on a walking tour of Naples.

The hotels were wonderful, with experience and professionalism throughout.

The drive along the coast to Amalfi and Ravello was spectacular!

Italy Tour Review: Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Positano, Florence, Rome, Siena, Winery Visit, 11 Nights

Overall, the trip was perfect! The hotels were really nice and the itinerary was great.

A few things I would have changed. First, the Amalfi tour day. There was not enough time in Ravello or Positano. We needed more time to relax and shop.

The class of train could have been nicer for the Florence-to-Rome portion of the trip.

We've been to many wineries throughout Europe and the one we went to on our way to Siena was okay, but we have been to much nicer wineries, with better wine and food tastings. It was not a great wine tour experience.

Everything else was wonderful and we really enjoyed the trip with our sons!!!

Thank you!

Italy Honeymoon Trip Review: Tuscany, Venice, Sorrento, Rome, Amalfi Coast, Pasta Cooking Class, Wine Tasting, Limoncello Tour, Local Cuisine, 10 Nights

My wife and I consulted with a handful of travel agencies in order to pick the right one for us to curate our dream honeymoon, and I could not be happier with our final decision to trust Zicasso’s tour company with this task.

Our travel agent was amazing throughout the process of building our itinerary, choosing experiences that fit exactly what we were looking for in an Italy honeymoon.

Start to finish, our overall experience was seamless. We decided to pack a lot into 10 nights, visiting Tuscany, Venice, Sorrento, and finishing the trip with one night in Rome. The tour company perfectly constructed our itinerary in a way that did not make our experience feel rushed in any of these locations. We had ample time to relax and explore these beautiful places on our own, while also fitting in world-class experiences specific to the region in which we were staying, all hand-selected by the tour company and their local expertise.

Every experience we had was incredible. From a private pasta cooking class and wine tasting in Tuscany to a limoncello tour in a quiet, picturesque village along the Amalfi Coast, each will be an experience my wife and I will never forget.

I would recommend this travel company to anyone visiting Italy for the first time or even those who have been to Italy, but want to experience breathtaking excursions curated by a local team of experts.

Our honeymoon was all we dreamed of and more, and I look forward to having the opportunity to use them for our next adventure.

Italy Tour Review: Rome, Bari, Positano, Sorrento, Naples, Amalfi Coast, 2-Week Trip

We had an amazing 2 weeks in Italy, from Rome, to Bari, Positano, Sorrento, and Naples. The planning and execution of our trip through Zicasso’s tour operator was flawless! They worked with me quite a bit in the planning phase to make sure this was going to be our dream trip.

Italy Travel Review: Florence, Spoleto, Perugia, Cinque Terre, 7-Day Trip

Most of the arrangements were fine, but as we've used Zicasso several times in the past, I was disappointed that the day trip on June 2nd to Spoleto and Perugia was on a national holiday. Nothing was open, and so we spent a lot of money, drove a long way just to have lunch in Spoleto. We spent 30 minutes in Perugia and did not use anywhere near the 9 hours we were paying for.

Also on Sunday, May 31st, the trip to Cinque Terre was not good planning. I told you when we started our discussions that I walked with a cane. The distance to and from the train stations in each of the cities was quite extensive so we only ended up in 3 towns. Again, we did not use anywhere near the 10 hours allotted for the tour.

In summary, I rely on your expertise of the area to guide us as to what to expect in the different destinations. We could have switched the days for Spoleto and Perugia, to avoid the holiday and could have tailored the Cinque Terre in other ways. I thought we were paying for a private excursion so I wouldn't have to do so much walking.

Again, my husband and I felt that the 2 days of private tours were money not well spent.

The transfers in all locations were excellent and the travel agent was delightful (although she did not give us the name and phone number of our drivers the day before, as was stated on our itinerary from the travel specialist).

All in all, we had a wonderful trip to Italy but feel some more personalized attention should have been paid to our specific needs, as this was a costly trip for 7 days.
