Venice - Venetian Family
Venice is a city of majesty. Marble palaces line labyrinthine streets. Bridges connect cobblestone pathways. Canals lap against the edges of a tranquil café. Gondolas drift down the historic waterways. Vibrant masks decorate shop windows during the annual celebration of Carnevale, alongside glittering capes and dramatic coats. The family arrives at Venice Marco Polo Airport, where your private transfer is waiting. Step onto a water taxi that whisks you across the famed Venetian Lagoon to your fabulous accommodation. The water acts as a highway for boats traversing the city. Narrower canals resemble private streets.
Locals linger in the canal-side restaurants and enjoy a glass of wine. Ponte Rialto was once the only bridge that arched across the waters of the Grand Canal. The stone bridge was erected in the 16th century, replacing the wooden bridge. Gondolas and boats pass beneath the structural arch that reaches a height of 24 feet above the water. Visitors frequent the shops situated beneath the portico. Seeing the Rialto Bridge confirms once and for all that you have arrived in Venice. Detailed Description
Venice and Rome contain elements of Italy’s imperial past. Grotte di Castellana highlights the natural wonders of the landscape. The conical rooftops of the trulli (stone huts) bring you into a world of fairytales. The multi-media exhibit inside Palazzo Valentini blends antiquity and ingenuity for an immersive experience the family will never forget. Your 10-day family vacation tour of Italy highlights the country’s famous attractions along the Adriatic Coast and the often-overlooked possibilities that Venice, Rome, and the region of Puglia provide, from gladiator school to cave dwellings, gondola instructions to garden delights.
Your journey begins with the family’s arrival in Venice, one of the most visited cities in all of Italy. Your private transfer meets you at the airport and escorts the family to a luxurious hotel in a serene neighborhood. The following morning, you explore the Grand Canal and the Venetian Lagoon. Visit the islands of Sant’Erasmo, Burano, Torcello, Murano, and Vignolo during your excursion for a distinctive sense of life throughout the lagoon. Next, your guide leads you on the first of many Italy tours, beginning with an exploration of St. Mark’s Square. Traverse the secret passageways of the Doge’s Palace, following in the footsteps of the Venetian Republic’s most powerful figures.
Continue your immersion into the city on a special gondola ride where everyone in the family has a chance to guide the traditional vessel along the canal. Then, fly to the southern city of Brindisi, located in Puglia at the heel of Italy. The city rests on the shores of the Adriatic Sea and claims the end of the Appian Way. You venture to the remarkable network of underground passageways at Grotte di Castellana. En route back to Brindisi, you stop in the remarkable town of Alberobello. Traditional homes known as trulli (stone huts with conical roofs) decorate the neighborhoods.
Afterward, you visit the charming town of Ostuni, known for its white pearl structures before reveling in the gorgeous scenery of Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve, home to sand dunes, beaches, and marshlands. Travel to the exceptional city of Matera to explore the upper and lower reaches of the streets. Witness the combination of medieval streets and cave dwellings set underneath the city’s foundations. Then, you make your way to Rome where the kids delight in learning at a Gladiator School.
Spend time exploring the ancient gladiatorial artifacts in the Gruppo Storico Romano. In the evening, the family visits the iconic Colosseum for a night tour of the ancient grounds. The following morning, you visit Palazzo Valentini for an interactive view of recently refurbished Roman villas set beneath the mansion’s foundations. In the afternoon, the family tours the sensational gardens of the Borghese Museum. On your final day, your private transfer meets you at the hotel and escorts the family to the airport for your flight home.

Zicasso's travel company planned the most amazing trip to Venice, Verona, Florence, Tuscany, Siena, and Rome for our family of five. It was the best trip I've ever taken, and having all the details covered by them and plans and tickets sent to us via WhatsApp allowed us to really live in the moment and not have to think about what was next. I loved every second. I cannot wait to plan another trip to Italy to experience the southern half of the country.

We've taken many family vacations over the years, but we all agreed this was the best one yet!
The team at Zicasso’s travel company did an exceptional job tailoring the perfect trip for our family. Every detail was thoughtfully planned, making the entire experience seamless and truly enjoyable from start to finish.
We had wonderful drives and knowledgeable, engaging tour guides who made each destination come to life. Some of our favorite highlights include a hands-on cooking class in Florence, exploring the beautiful Tuscan countryside, and having effortless access to iconic sites like the Vatican and the Colosseum.
The experiences were unforgettable, from the best food tour in Rome to a fun and unique golf-cart tour through the city. We also loved visiting a Parmigiano-Reggiano factory and a Parma ham producer, along with an extra-special stop at the Ferrari Museum that was such a memorable surprise.
Every moment felt thoughtfully curated and we came home with incredible memories that we will cherish for years to come. We highly recommend the travel company to anyone looking for a truly personalized and exceptional travel experience.

My wife and I consulted with a handful of travel agencies in order to pick the right one for us to curate our dream honeymoon, and I could not be happier with our final decision to trust Zicasso’s tour company with this task.
Our travel agent was amazing throughout the process of building our itinerary, choosing experiences that fit exactly what we were looking for in an Italy honeymoon.
Start to finish, our overall experience was seamless. We decided to pack a lot into 10 nights, visiting Tuscany, Venice, Sorrento, and finishing the trip with one night in Rome. The tour company perfectly constructed our itinerary in a way that did not make our experience feel rushed in any of these locations. We had ample time to relax and explore these beautiful places on our own, while also fitting in world-class experiences specific to the region in which we were staying, all hand-selected by the tour company and their local expertise.
Every experience we had was incredible. From a private pasta cooking class and wine tasting in Tuscany to a limoncello tour in a quiet, picturesque village along the Amalfi Coast, each will be an experience my wife and I will never forget.
I would recommend this travel company to anyone visiting Italy for the first time or even those who have been to Italy, but want to experience breathtaking excursions curated by a local team of experts.
Our honeymoon was all we dreamed of and more, and I look forward to having the opportunity to use them for our next adventure.

When we started planning our trip to Italy, I knew I wanted to work with a travel agent—specifically, someone who specialized in Italy and was based there. After reaching out to several agencies and reviewing their responses, we chose Zicasso and, more specifically, our travel agent. She is based in Milan and from my very first interaction with her, I knew we had made the right choice.
Our trip could not have been more perfect. Our agent put a lot of thought into every location and planned activity. At the outset, we had a few discussions with her about what we wanted from the trip and, after that, we were happy to leave most of the details in her capable hands. Our goal was to explore mid-to-northern Italy and everything—from the hotels and tours to the free time and transportation—was beautifully organized.
Our 11-night trip started in Milan and ended in Florence, with overnight stays in Milan (one night), Lake Como (three nights), Venice (three nights), and Florence (four nights). Initially, I was hesitant about staying at Lake Como for three nights, but our agent encouraged me to do a little research. I’m so glad she did, as it turned out to be incredible. We had more self-guided time at Lake Como, which was perfect as we adjusted to the time change. In Venice, our itinerary became more structured, but we still had plenty of time for our own explorations. By the time we reached Florence, we had activities and tours planned for every day, which was just what we wanted.
A highlight for my family was a full-day trip into Tuscany, where we visited San Gimignano, an organic vineyard in Chianti, and finished with a tour of Siena. Our day trip to Rome allowed us to see the main attractions and we concluded the journey with a tour of Florence and the Accademia Gallery. Every tour our agent arranged was spot on.
Throughout our trip, she was wonderfully communicative—always available when we had questions, but never intrusive. She even helped us with a couple of last-minute requests: booking a hotel in Milan for one night and arranging train tickets to Verona for an impromptu visit to Juliet’s balcony. Whenever we needed something, she was there.
When we return to explore the mid-to-southern part of Italy, there’s no question that we’ll be asking her to plan our trip again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a seamless, thoughtfully curated Italian adventure.
