Rome – Introductory Tour
Rome maintains a gilded image as the capital of Italy with a bustling metropolis, alongside the preserved history that rises along the cobbled streets and spans millennia. Your private transfer will meet you at Rome Fiumicino Airport upon your arrival and escort you to the heart of the city amidst the Baroque beauty of the Trevi Fountain and the impressive ancient architecture of the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore. After you settle into your luxurious hotel that overlooks a shady tree-lined boulevard, your private guide will meet you in the hotel lobby eager to lead you on a magnificent introductory tour of central Rome.
The Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore is one of four important pilgrimage churches in the city, distinctive for its history as the only church in Rome to have celebrated mass every day since the 5th-century. The interior apse was erected in the 13th-century and the tallest Campanile in the city, which stands at 240 feet tall, was added in the 1370s. The aroma of myrrh and frankincense continue to fill the interior daily. When the light catches the gold coffered ceiling, the entire nave glows with the first gold brought back from the Americas to blend New World accents with Old World grandeur.

Zicasso’s travel agent developed our itinerary to our specifications. She reached out right away and called if a follow-up was needed or to clarify something. Our trip went off without any problems. The itinerary was very clear, as was the timeline, trip summary, and tickets. If I had a question, she always responded.
We had one slight issue, which was quickly resolved and worked itself out. I communicated often with her throughout the trip and I always received a pleasant response. Our trip was designed to our needs. Our accommodations were wonderful! I would definitely recommend this travel company!

Zicasso’s travel company did such a great job putting the trip together. I was charged for an extra night at our hotel in Paris, but they are refunding that and the Cairo portion of the trip we had to cancel.
Our Paris tour guide was great and I’d recommend her to anyone. Our Rome tour guides were very good. Hong Kong was fine. Our Tokyo guide was wonderful.
Really, the only hiccup on the trip was our hotel in Hong Kong. The company that picked us up dropped us at one hotel, not the correct one. Thankfully, a couple of their bellhops walked us and all our luggage several blocks to the correct hotel. Our tour guide the next day also went to the wrong hotel, but we only lost about 45 minutes before we figured out the issue. If you use that hotel again, please make sure folks know which hotel is which.
The "Fast and Furious" car experience was OK; however, my grandson was so tired he slept through most of it. The chopstick-making was fun, as was the glass-blowing experience.

We had an amazing trip of a lifetime to the Amalfi Coast and Rome. Zicasso’s travel specialist did a fantastic job getting to know me and finding out what my exact wants were. They kept tabs on us while we were traveling and even contacted us when our train was delayed over an hour. When we had an issue, there was always someone there to help resolve it.

Our anniversary trip to Italy, which Zicasso’s travel specialist helped me plan, was magical. She spaced out our activities, so we got to see the major sites, but didn't feel overbooked. She was extremely helpful days before the trip, making sure we had detailed instructions and vouchers, and was available on WhatsApp while we were traveling. She was super-responsive during the planning and while we were on the trip.
